Charlotte Holmes is a child in World War II evacuated to the countryside to a big house. There she encounters several mysteries (none fatal in case you're worried about young children taking part). This is theatre at its very best, innovative, exciting, absorbing. It imparts learning to those who take part - like using secret code, identifying birds and trees, life in England during the war, but it does so in a very natural manner without ever being preachy.
From the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield, Charlotte Holmes is an innovative piece of theatre, intended for school age children aged 7 - 11.

*****I cannot recommend this highly enough. I did this along with my 26 year old daughter. We were sent an actual cardboard box packed with activities (often wrapped, even better) and some simple instructions which may need adult help. The activities you are given offer clues to solving the mysteries that you are told about during 5 minute video shorts on a secret page online. This story can be enjoyed over a week, opening a clue a day and doing the many activities offered as part of it, or in a binge sitting such as we did over multiple hours in a day.
The box contains many activities so if you can afford the £30 price tag, it will provide hours of entertainment. A new box will be sent to my young relatives for Christmas.
