First Prize: 2,500,000 yen
Second Prize: 1,200,000 yen
Third Prize: 800,000 yen
Special Awards of the Competition
MK Memorial Award:
500,000 yen. This award will be presented to the ensembles which receive the first prize of Section Ⅰ and Ⅱ.
Bordeaux String Quartet Festival Award:
This award will be presented to a string quartet selected from the ensembles in Section I. The award-winning string quartet will be invited to the Vibre! Bordeaux International String Quartet Festival in 2024 to join a masterclass and concert.
String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam Award:
The first-prize winner of Section Ⅰ will perform in a concert at String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam in 2024.
“Ambassador Ensemble of the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition 2023” Award:
This award will be presented to an ensemble selected from all the ensembles taking part in the Competition. The award-winning ensemble will perform at VdSQ & Festival4 to be held in Germany in 2024.
Festa
Menuhin Gold Prize*: 1,500,000 yen
Silver Prize: 800,000 yen
Bronze Prize: 500,000 yen
*To honor Lord Yehudi Menuhin, who served as Honorary Artistic Director from the first to the third Competition and Festa, and suggested the idea of Chamber Music Festa, the Organizer began to grant the “Menuhin Gold Prize” to the best ensemble participating in the Festa to remember his achievement since the third Festa in 1999.
Special Awards of the Festa
The “Folkloric Music Special Award”:
200,000 yen will be awarded to an ensemble from the Semifinal Round which has presented the best performance of traditional/ethnic music.
Online audience Award:
100,000 yen will be awarded to an ensemble with the highest number of online audience votes in the Semifinal Round. The online audiences with a right to vote will be commissioned by the Organizer.
The First prize winners and Menuhin Gold Prize winner will have a concert tour in about 10 cities in Japan.
The Festa is open to ensembles of all nationalities with no age limitation.
The 1st round of the Festa will be held at Toyama and Mie prefecture.
