Important dates and application fee
Video submissions may be accepted between Saturday, January 1, 2022, and no later than Friday, March 25, 2022 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time. A non-refundable application fee of $125 US is required.
Age of competitors
Violinists must be between the ages of 16 and 29 at the time of the Competition.
Competition process
The 11th Quadrennial Competition will commence with Opening Ceremonies on Friday, September 9, 2022. The Preliminaries will take place between September 11-14 with a 45-minute recital style performance by each of the 40 Participants. Semi-Finals (16 Participants) will take place September 16-19 in a full recital format not to exceed 75 minutes. In this round, each Participant is also to perform the obligatory work commissioned specifically for this Competition. The Final rounds will take place in two stages: a Classical concerto and “encore” work with the East Coast Chamber Orchestra on September 21-22; and a full concerto with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra on September 23-24. Closing Ceremonies and a final recital with the six Laureates will take place Sunday, September 25, 2022. A list of the approved repertoire will be released at a later date.
Travel and accommodation
IVCI provides host families for all Participants during the entire length of stay. Travel is not provided. Participants living outside the U.S. may request a travel grant if coming abroad solely for the Competition and can demonstrate financial need.

Audiences are welcome to view all rounds. Ticket prices vary based on the rounds.
