Festival of ARD Prize Winners

About the festival

Since 2001 the ARD International Music Competition Munich has been organizing a number of annual Chamber Music Festivals to which prize-winners and other outstanding participants from previous years were invited.

One of the purposes of these events is to give these young musicians the opportunity to meet other artists and thus to establish personal and artistic relationships which are helpful for their further careers.

In 2023, concerts will take place among others at the Schwetzinger SWR Festspiele, Schwarzwald Musikfestival, Kloster Seeon, Tegernsee and Munich.

How to get there?

The festival concerts will take place in: Schwetzingen, Klosterreichenbach, Freudenstadt, München, Iffeldorf, Gauting,, Grassau, Tegernsee, Würzburg. 

The closest airports are located in Munich, Stuttgart and Memmingen.

Local accommodation

Most of the places where the festival takes place have several hotels to choose from. Booking in advance is adviced. 

Dress code

There is no specific dress code for the concerts.

Food & drink

Most of the venues have restaurants nearby.

The cities where the festival takes place offer a wealth of culturally significant places to visit and are surrounded by stunning natural sights:

Munich and Würzburg – very interesting historical cities with great museums, Schwetzingen – castle Tegernsee and Grassau – Alp region, Klosterreichenbach and Freudenstadt – Black Foster Region.
