The Festival takes place in Château de Florans Park, in a southern town called La Roque d’Anthéron. It is set in a peaceful countryside location in the heart of Provence. It is focused on keyboard instruments and especially piThere are all kinds of programs: soloists, chamber ensembles, orchestras, and the Festival’s main music genre is classical music, but includes contemporary creations, jazz concerts, and occasionally electronic music. The Festival is the meeting place for all pianistic talents, bringing together young talents with the most prestigious artists in the world.
The main venue consists of an outdoor Auditorium in the Château de Florans Park. An acoustic shell has been built in the middle of secular trees, such as redwoods and plane trees. The summer warmth allows the concerts to take place outside and the artists are joined by the singing of storks and birds. Apart from this venue, the Festival also gives concerts all across Provence, in places like the Silvacane Abbaye, Rognes ancient quarry, Aix-en-Provence Grand Théâtre de Provence and many more. Attendees can reach the festival by train to Aix-en-Provence TGV station (39 km from La Roque d'Anthéron) or Avignon TGV station (60km from La Roque d'Anthéron).They can also come by plane to Marseille Provence Airport (54km from La Roque d'Anthéron). They can also come by car and the festival have detailed every different route on their website. The Festival also provides a shuttle bus between Aix-en-Provence and La Roque d'Anthéron for all evening concerts in the Château de Florans Park. In La Roque d’Anthéron and nearby, there are mainly towns where you can find a lot of bed and breakfasts and small hotels. Indeed, Provence is a very attractive region for Holidays and there is a wide variety of accommodation. As the weather is very warm in the summer, when the festival always takes place, a lot of people come to this typical part of Provence. This means that we recommend booking in advance. Aix-en-Provence is only 30 minutes away, all types of accommodations can be found there and same goes for Marseille, 50 minutes away.
Provence is a wine-growing region with beautiful countryside, the sea, and further in the countryside, mountains. The architecture is very typical, and all the small towns are worth visiting.
You can do hundreds of hikes with natural wonders; you or go to the beach and enjoy seaside activities. There are wineries to visit, such as Château Lacoste and a strong local food economy.
Provence is one of the main Cultural regions in France with many festivals and museums. Aix-En-Provence is a wonderful city, with typical architecture, museums like Musée Granet or Centre Caumont, and a strong classical music reputation.
There is no dress code at the Festival and we pride ourselves on our familial and welcoming atmosphere. The weather is usually warm and there is no need for sunscreen or mosquito repellent.
The Festival offers a drinks stand with all types of refreshments. Attendees are welcome to bring a picnic in the park, but can also eat in one of La Roque d’Anthéron's restaurants but advance booking is recommended.
