Founded in 1895 by Sir Henry Wood, the BBC Proms is one of the largest classical music festivals in the world. Returning this summer for a full eight weeks of concerts at the Royal Albert Hall, a new weekend festival at Sage Gateshead and Proms in all four nations.
Featuring a programme of 84 concerts with more than 3,000 musicians, the 2023 season promises a wealth of spectacular music-making, from Berlioz to Bollywood, large scale symphonic and choral works to intimate chamber concerts and exciting Proms debuts.
The BBC Proms 2023 will showcase British ensembles, and international talent, world premieres and debut performances, undiscovered work and audience favourites and the summer culminates in a glorious celebration of the season in the form of the world-famous Last Night of the Proms.
The majority of Proms will be broadcast live on Radio 3, every Prom will available to listen on Sounds, and select Proms will be broadcast on BBC television and available on BBC iPlayer.
