The ‘eloquent trumpet soloist’ (The Times, 2021) Matilda Lloyd performs with the Britten Sinfonia Soloists, exploring the full emotional range of the trumpet through the expressive bel canto style of Italian opera and the sparkling virtuosity of the variations. Highlights include Rossini’s Prelude, Theme and Variations, two songs by Pauline Viardot and a set of variations on one of her most famous roles: Bellini’s Norma.
