In this concert, explore 17th-century connections between the European lute song and the rise of the Triste and the Yaravi Arequipeño in Latin American folk music. With songs by Barbara Strozzi and John Dowland, from the Peruvian Codex Zuola and from the collections of Atilio Reynoso and Atahualpa Yupanqui.
