Composed by the preeminent contemporary American composer Aaron Copland, this song cycle is an imaginative insight into the work of Emily Dickinson, the revolutionary 19th century poet. Through his beautiful setting of her exquisite words, Copland invites us on a journey into the mind of the reclusive poet, capturing her extraordinary humanity and searing clarity as she explores themes of love and loss, nature and friendship. A single voice and piano collaborate in this haunting yet uplifting work.

This new production created specially for film stars soprano April Koyejo-Audiger and pianist Sergey Rybin. The staging is directed by Matthew Eberhardt and filmed by Tin Vlainic at Hoxton Hall.
