Join Mr van B the puppet in the 250-year anniversary celebration of Ludwig van Beethoven’s fantastic world of music. Some of Beethoven’s best-known works are presented here with humour and whimsy. Alexander Hanson leads the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and Ayla Kabaca is the host.
Famous classical composers are often new to children who come to Konserthuset Stockholm. Many times, it is also their first encounter with a symphony orchestra. In this funny and entertaining show featuring the rather self-centred puppet Mr van B, we enjoy an introduction to the music of Beethoven while also learning what conductors and composers do, and what a piano concerto is. The children get to sing along during Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, the ”Anthem of Europe” – a piece of music with which the children tend to be familiar.
Klas Backman, music teacher, songwriter and music producer who studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, and Ayla Kabaca, well-known from Barnens Allsång på Skansen (Children’s Sing-along at Skansen) and as an SVT programme host, are behind the show. Both have collaborated with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra many times before. Joining them on stage is pianist and actor Markus Kvint.
